Perry’s Ice cream
Perry’s Ice Cream began over 100 years ago in a small town outside of Buffalo, New York. Today, their ice cream can be found in almost every Buffalo home. Updates were made to the brand over the years, but there always seemed to be a disconnect between the logo, which reflected the brand’s history, and the packaging design, which took a more modern approach. Research was done to pull elements from the original brand identity, and show them in a new light.
After establishing the new logo, the packaging needed to be updated to match. The vintage flair was carried through to the cartons, cups, and cones using red and white stripes, which were also used on the original packaging designs. To distinguish the flavors from each other, the tops of the cartons were designed to look like ice cream scoops, and match the color of the ice cream inside.
To get the community excited about the brand’s new look and increase awareness, totes and t-shirts were made. An ice cream truck was also designed to go out and spread cheer to children and adults alike.
Social media posts were the last element of the brand to refine. The new grid shows off the redesign in an exciting way by using bright colors, delicious close-ups of ice cream, and playful images of people enjoying all that Perry’s has to offer.
